Legends from the worlds of music, theatre, art and comedy will enter into the midst from 15th – 30th September for the 2018 Hurst Festival! The brochure is out on July 23rd with full details of how to book or visit the website at www.hurstfestival.org .

Much of the talent is local, including front man for the Levellers, Mark Chadwick, performing his acoustic show. Tim Pope, film and music video director, shares stories of working with Bowie, Neil Young, Fatboy Slim and George Michael. And our Jimmy Hill tribute supper features none other than Bobby Gould.

It is 100 years since Lloyd George signed the armistice to end World War 1 in Hurstpierpoint and so the underlying theme is ‘Peace’.

Anna Hope joins us to share her novels which bookend the Great War, Stewart Hall will be telling the stories of some of the local men who fell in WW1.

Musically we have something for everyone: there’s Jazz and Blues, Cajun and Classical, Baroque, Baritone and Big Band.

There’s both a graffiti and musical theatre workshop for older kids and Short Stories, Tall Tales for the little ones.

The online box office opens on July 23rd, so get ready to press the ‘buy tickets now’ button at www.hurstfestival.org before it’s all sold out! #HurstFestFOMO

If you want to get early-bird tickets, become a Friend of the Festival and you can buy from 9th July.  Our next Volunteers evening is on 18th July at the New Inn 7pm – do come along, there are so many different ways that you can help – or sign up online.
