On Saturday 15 September there will be a Pop-up Outdoor Cinema in St John's Park, Burgess Hill showing Spider-Man: Homecoming at 7.45pm.
There will be a BBQ, popcorn and drinks will also be available. Please bring your own camping chairs, beanbags, cushions and blankets! The film is rated 12A. Children younger than 12 may attend as long as they are accompanied by an adult. Parking is very limited - please walk to the event if possible.
Legends from the worlds of music, theatre, art and comedy will enter into the midst from 15th – 30th September for the 2018 Hurst Festival! The brochure is out on July 23rd with full details of how to book or visit the website at www.hurstfestival.org .
Much of the talent is local, including front man for the Levellers, Mark Chadwick, performing his acoustic show. Tim Pope, film and music video director, shares stories of working with Bowie, Neil Young, Fatboy Slim and George Michael. And our Jimmy Hill tribute supper features none other than Bobby Gould.
It is 100 years since Lloyd George signed the armistice to end World War 1 in Hurstpierpoint and so the underlying theme is ‘Peace’.
Anna Hope joins us to share her novels which bookend the Great War, Stewart Hall will be telling the stories of some of the local men who fell in WW1.
Musically we have something for everyone: there’s Jazz and Blues, Cajun and Classical, Baroque, Baritone and Big Band.
There’s both a graffiti and musical theatre workshop for older kids and Short Stories, Tall Tales for the little ones.

The Shapla in association with the Burgess Hill District Lions Club are holding a curry night in aid of Woodlands Meed School in Burgess Hill.
Tickets are £20 per person for a 3 course meal (drinks not included)
