Mud Monsters Run

Over the past 5 years Mud Monsters Run has grown from strength to strength and we have seen thousands of muddy smiles crossing our finish line.

For us the main reason for each of our events is that everyone has fun and enjoys pushing themselves to do something out of their comfort zone.  We are based in the beautiful countryside of West Sussex with amazing natural terrain and a whole variety of natural and manmade obstacles, we currently have 65 obstacles and this increases with every event we do.
We have just about everything you need for an extra muddy run, woods, rivers, streams, craters, deep muddy bogs and many more muddy surprises along the way.

The Mud Monsters Run is a 5k, 10k or 20k (double lap) challenging run in East Grinstead, just 20 minutes from the M25 J6, through the West Sussex countryside with many muddy obstacles on the way.

Our runs are great value for money and every runner will get a free medal, free photos and loads more!

Don't miss out, sign up now.  For more info go to www.mudmonstersrun.co.uk

Ditchling Museum

Ditchling Museum of Art + Craft celebrates an icon of illustration, alongside work for children by his students and contemporaries, featuring: • Never-before-seen drafts of children’s classic The Giant Jam Sandwich • Works by Quentin Blake, Raymond Briggs and Helen Oxenbury • A large-scale interactive installation of The Giant Jam Sandwich! A new exhibition will open at Ditchling Museum of Art + Craft this Spring, to mark 50 years of revered illustrator John Vernon Lord’s life and work in Ditchling. Lord is one of Britain’s most recognised and respected illustrators, owing both to his own practice, and his pioneering contribution to education across almost six decades. Lord has illustrated many classics of English literature including the work of Lewis Carroll, Edward Lear, Aesop’s fables and James Joyce and is regarded as a pillar of the local arts community in Ditchling where he has lived since the 1970s. Also an author in his own right, Lord has written and illustrated a number of children’s books including The Giant Jam Sandwich (1972), which has since become a modern classic

Road Meets Rail Steam Festival

Traditional steam fair featuring working traction engine displays, miniature engines, goods trains and a steam driven children’s fair. Our 2021 Road meets Rail event will be taking place 17 – 18 July. Step back in time for a weekend of steam powered demonstrations and vintage fairground fun. Traction engines, road rollers, steam wagons, showman’s engines, crane engines and more… bringing Horsted Keynes station to life with recreations of a bygone age. We bring road steam and rail steam together for a weekend of enjoyment and interest, suitable for all ages! See how road building, wood sawing, timber haulage and lifting were carried out in the early 1900s. Experience fairground rides powered by a Showman’s engine. Watch as deliveries are made to the station by steam wagon, traction engine and pantechnicon. Steam hauled passenger trains will be passing through the station and a goods train will be shunting in and out amid the activity! Enjoy an ice cream or hog roast in the paddock, or visit the beer island to sample some popular Sussex ales. And if you fancy dressing up for the event, feel free to don some 1920’s gear and immerse yourself fully in the vintage atmosphere of the weekend. We’ll be keeping an eye out for the best outfits… Bring the whole family for a fantastically steam-filled day out! Buy discounted tickets now & beat the queues… (also available to purchase on the day) Tickets will be on sale later this month.
